It was built in 1591 A.D. in qutub's dynasty. Sultan Muhammad Quili Qutub was the qutub ruler who started building this beautiful monument and completed in 1591.A.D.
It's said that it was built symbolically for the elimination of the epidemic of the plague from the hyderabad city, Which became the capital of Qutub empire after it was shifted from Golconda to hyderabad.
People also do say about it's creation that the structural engineer of this building gave the 500 years of guarantee to the emperor. And for this the solution which was used to create this building was containing the mixture of the milk of the banyan tree, and the gums excreted from various trees, which made it rock solid, and the marble which gives it a beautiful touch. it's south pillar was hit by lightning and it was reconstructed for rupees -100,000/- in 1824 A.D.
considering this exception there is still n harm or a real damage happened till date. And today also this building calls you by its really appealing structure. There are 14000 shops around this monument. Its famous as the old city, and most of the shops are for pearl jeweleries.
